Nationally recognized by Child Trends, Communities In Schools is the leader in providing integrated student supports or wrap‐around services. CIS Rome-Floyd has a high school based program at the Phoenix Performance Learning Center (PLC) and a middle school program based at Coosa Middle School. 

Communities In Schools surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our evidence‐based approach, adapted to meet each community’s unique needs, is the basis for our success. Many children face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Through a school‐based site coordinator, Communities In Schools strategically aligns and delivers needed resources so that students can focus on learning.

We have a proven track record of achieving strong results with the students placed most at risk for falling behind in school and not achieving in life as validated by several third‐party evaluations.

The CIS model of integrated student supports has been shown to both reduce dropout and increase on‐time graduation rates. Our annual data consistently shows year over year that the students we provide intensive supports remain in school, are promoted to the next grade level, and for seniors, 90% or more graduate. The majority of our case managed students met their individual goals related to improved academics, attendance, and school behavior.
